Adding images to an album

You have two options to get to the Add Images page.  The easiest is to click on the Albums tab and click on the album you want to add images to add images to.  Once you click on the album name you will see an Add Images link on the lower right in the Album Tools frame.

You can also click on the Images tab followed by the Add sub tab. Either of these two options will bring up the following screen.

In the top box select the albums you would like to add images to.  If you clicked on the Add Images link from the View Album page the album will already be selected.

Under image options you can select whether you would like your clients to be able to view the images as black & white or sepia.  Under title you select how you want the images to be titled.  Once the images are imported you can go back and retitle them if you would like.  Also note that images are sorted by title by default but you can resort them in any order once they are imported.

Selecting files to add

You have two options to import files. The first is to manually upload files using the Local Files option.  This allows you to upload up to 10 individual files into your album.  Any of these files can be either a jpg or a zip file containing jpgs.  The downside to using the Local Files option is that many servers will limit how large your upload can be and this can cause problems when you upload many files.

The other option is to upload via FTP and then use the Files on Server option. This allows you to upload many files - again either jpgs or zips containing jpgs - and import them all at once. To use this option you will FTP the files to a subfolder under where you installed ProofBuddy and then browse to where you uploaded theme.  Note that you cannot use the /albums/ folder for this because it is critical that the /albums/ folder not have extraneous files.  What I did is create a folder called /uploads/ and then FTP images to that folder to import.

Adding the files

Once you click on the Add button you will be taken to a screen that will display the process of the import.  Across the top you will see a progress bar and each file will be individually listed as it is added.  Once all the files have been imported a link will be displayed that will take you back to the album.  After 5 seconds the script will automatically redirect back to the album page.
