Add Coupon

The add coupon page allows you to create a new coupon for your albums or for a specific album.

Some of the following options may not appear. Not all options are applicable to all coupon types.

Description: A title for this coupon. For example, if you create a coupon that gives clients 10% off of their order, a good description might be “10% off”. Descriptions do not have to be unique, so you can have as many coupons titled “10% off” as you like.

Coupon Code: This is the code that you will give to your clients. They will enter this code upon checkout to get their credit or discount. Each coupon code must be unique, and ProofBuddy helps out by filling in a unique number for each coupon you create. Of course you can replace ProofBuddy’s suggested code with anything you like as long as it’s not already in use.

Album: You can create a coupon that works for all albums or only for selected albums.

Coupon Type: This is where you can decide which type of coupon you would like to use. Valid types are credit, flat, free item, free shipping, and percentage. There is also a pre-payment option which is technically not a coupon, but functions the same way.

Value: Either the dollar or percentage value of this coupon, depending on what type of coupon. For example, a credit coupon with a value of 10 would mean $10 but a percentage coupon with a value of 10 would be 10% off.

Free Item: The item to give to the client free. Note that this is specific to a pricing set. For example, if you have a 4x6 Print in pricing set A and a 4x6 Print in pricing set B, selecting the 4x6 from set A will not give the client a free 4x6 from set B.

Free Shipping: Which shipping option to give to the client for free.

You will generally not want to use this option for clients that don’t pay shipping because they are picking up their order from your studio. In that case we suggest having a “Studio Pickup”, or something similar, shipping option.

Expiration Date: The last day that this coupon can be used. Leave blank if you don’t want this coupon to expire.

Max Uses: The maximum number of times that this coupon can be used.

Max Per Order: The maximum number of free items that can be given on a single order. Typically this will match the max uses.

Minimum / Maximum: The minimum and maximum cart values for this coupon to be valid. For example, if you set a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $100 then this coupon would work for any cart between $10 and $100. It wouldn’t be valid for a cart of $5 or of $105.

Leave these values at 0.00 if you do not wish to have a minimum or maximum.

Auto Value: The cart value at which this coupon will automatically kick in. Leave at 0.00 to disable.
